Anna heard it from her friend. Ella has a girlfriend in Ecuador. "That's nice," I said. Anna shook her head and got upset with me: "Grant, not a girlfriend girlfriend, a girlfriend!" She tapped the newspaper in my hands and it folded over. Oh, that kind. "Perhaps," I said, "she feels lonely. She is confused, she is far from home. I'm sure it doesn't mean anything." But I couldn't talk her down.
I called Ella that night. She told me I didn't understand. "Help me understand then Ella, come home."
I figured I got the church elders to talk with her, they would give advice.
Option 1: Ella got some sense talked into her and agreed to go to gay conversion camp.
Option 2: Ella decided to take some time away from everything and visit her aunt Jenn in Seattle.
